Pueblo West Clean-Up set May 30
Coupons must be pre-purchased to participate in the event.
The Pueblo West View
The Pueblo West Womens League (PWWL), with the support of the Pueblo City-County Health Department, will hold the Spring Clean-Up for Pueblo West residents.
The goal of the annual clean-up is to promote community pride and help residents clean up their properties and dispose of large, bulky, waste items.
This year, all interested residents must have a pre-purchased coupon to participate. No coupons will be sold on event day. This event will be held on May 30 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The clean-up will be located at the open lot north of the Pueblo West Library on Civic Center Drive, off of Joe Martinez Boulevard. Residents may dispose of tree and shrub trimmings (cut 6-feet or less), old scrap appliances, four passenger tires, mattresses, or furniture. Yard waste, such as leaves, weeds, and cut grass must be bagged.
No household trash or garbage, household hazardous waste or liquids, TVs, computers, refrigerators, freezers, or air conditioners will be accepted.
Coupons for a level pick-up truck load are $12 each. Senior coupons (65 years or older) are $6. There is a limit of two coupons per address with identification. A limited number of seniors and disabled residents without any means of delivery may request curbside pick-up assistance on event day by purchasing coupons and signing up on the list on a first-come, first-served basis. Only cash or checks will be accepted for coupons.
Coupons are on sale at two locations until May 27 (or until sold out). They are:
- Pueblo West Metro District, Office Lobby, 109 W. Industrial Drive, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
- Liberty Point Recreation Center, 971 S. Tolstoi Drive, weekday afternoons only, 1:30-4:30 p.m. Please contact the City-County Health Department at 583-4309 with questions regarding acceptable waste items.
The PWWL continues to serve the community of Pueblo West through donations to a variety of groups, including the library, schools, animal services, the parks and recreation center, fire services, as well as providing scholarships. For more information about the PWWL, e-mail PWWLinfo@gmail.com
